Skidby Parish Council is responsible for a number of services in the Parish including the maintenance and upkeep of Riplingham Road Cemetery, the Old Baptist Burial Ground on Main Street and the day to date operation of Little Weighton Road Cemetery.
We are also responsible for three Village Greens, School Green, Church Green and East Green, as well as Skidby Playing Fields, where there is a football pitch, cricket pitch and a range a play equipment.
The Parish Council provides and maintains a number of seats and benches in the Parish as well as noticeboards on the Village Hall and cemeteries. We have recently installed a new lectern notice board to hold the map of Skidby donated by the Yorkshire Countrywomen’s Association and, thanks to a grant from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, a new bench and lectern to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
