The Cyclists

Long popular as a meeting point for cyclists, Skidby was a proud part of the route of the Tour de Yorkshire in 2018. The opening stage started at Beverley, to where it returned after a loop that took in Hornsea. The riders then passed through Skidby at the 50km mark before heading through the Wolds and finishing at Doncaster. A day one total of 182km. The rest of the race took in a further 350km of South and North Yorkshire before finishing in Leeds.

The rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds surrounding Skidby make it ideal cycling terrain for beginners and experts alike and the village is now a permanent part of the Beverley cycle route, which provides easy, steady and challenging options suitable for any cyclist.
